Ella Yelich O'Connor, professionally known as Lorde, was born in Takapuna, New Zealand, on November 7, 1996. She was raised in Devonport, New Zealand, with her sisters Jerry and India, along with her brother Angelo. In March of 2013, released her debut EP entitled The Love Club EP, and due to it's success, released her debut studio album, Pure Heroine that September. The album was met with critical acclaim. She embarked on a world tour to promote the album, and started planning her sophomore album during that time. In 2017, after three years of being radio silent, she dropped her highly anticipated sixth single, "Green Light". This was followed by "Liability" the next week, and she released her sophomore studio album, Melodrama, that June. "Sober" and "Perfect Places" were released as the third promotional single and second single from the album, respectively. She began the Melodrama World Tour in September of 2017, going through until April of 2018. She is praised for her lyrical genius - including her constant metaphors and allegories, and unique sound.
